“Who would defend himself unless he thought he were attacked, that the attack were real, and that his own defense could save himself? And herein lies the folly of defense; it gives illusions full reality, and then attempts to handle them as real. It adds illusions to illusions, thus making correction doubly difficult. And it is this you do when you attempt to plan the future, activate the past, or organize the present as you wish.” (W-135.1) The destination is now; the means are given simultaneously with the end. Like a musician or an athlete in the flow of the moment, the experience is the end. The Holy Spirit will guide you in the present where you lose the sense of a personal self. Receiving guidance from the Holy Spirit, practically speaking, means following your intuitions and feelings without holding back. David encourages us to listen and follow the little hunches or suggestions that we get. Following these suggestions will save us time and torment. Don’t worry about getting it wrong. You cannot mess up God’s perfect plan of Atonement.
What about Sexual Relationships?
Freedom is only in mind. What does that mean for sexual relationships? Minds can join, bodies cannot. This is the proof that the body does not exist at all. You cannot achieve anything with the body. Therefore, seek not outside yourself for you will fail and you will weep each time an idol falls. Even companionship points out that you believe you are alone unless you are with another body. Companionship is a defense against the truth. Am I going to use the mirroring for emptying my mind from everything I believe? For there is the one true purpose in which things are used in the most helpful way.
