How to Be a Mystic – Mystic David Hoffmeister talks about the importance of seeing what you value and whether it’s more important than remembering the Love of God. Becoming a mystic means valuing the Love of God above all else and releasing all worldly forms, desires, and expectations in order to live a simple life of mysticism.
Sex < 5 mins, Desire, Ego, Feelings of Lack, Holy Spirit, Intimacy, Judgement, Lack, Miracle Worker, Pleasure, Purpose, Sex and Sexuality
In order to have peace of mind, we have to raise up the ego beliefs and be free of them. Sexuality is the basic belief in needs which is all part of the perception of being a human being. As these needs are fulfilled on a regular basis the mind can be raised up into and advanced higher order of needs and that would be self-actualization. Sexual desire is a distorted miracle impulse, and is actually a gentle reminder, to see that you are being called back to God.

What if you do entertain the notion of enlightenment? Some symbols and stories are about the possibility that you will become enlightened in a different Earth lifetime, and that it isn’t possible in this one. But deep down, there is a feeling that anything is possible. What if you entertain the notion of the Holy Instant as spoken about in “A Course in Miracles?”
Stress and Worry < 5 mins, A Course in Miracles, Desire, Ego, Ego Backlash, Jesus, Judgments, Temptations, True and False Empathy, Upset
Here is a great gem from David’s ACIM videos. Find out how to pin-point where you get tripped-up with perceiving upsets as being outside of your own mind. See that there is no pain in reality; the thought of pain originates in the sleeping mind. “A Course in Miracles” quotes Jesus’s teaching: “All things work together for good. There are no exceptions except in the ego’s judgment.” (T 4.V.1.1) No exceptions! That means that what the ego experiences as a pain is working for good.
Depression 5–10 mins, Autonomy, Control, Desire, Guidance, Independence, Intuition, Mantras, Miracles, Prayer, Present Moment, Rituals, Separation, Spiritual Vision, Symbols, Theory vs Experience
Why hold on to a little autonomous role, even that of being a spiritual person? Nothing repetitive, no spiritual ritual, will take you to the holy instant. Only the desire of your heart will take you home. You can have a spontaneous Awakening just from following your intuition. What Jesus is saying in A Course in Miracles can be paraphrased as, “You can see this world without any help. But you need help to see another world. You need help to have spiritual vision. You need a lot of help to come back to remember who you are as the Christ. Yet you can see this world without help.”
Stress and Worry 10–30 mins, A Course in Miracles, Abandonment, Atonement, Beliefs and Concepts, Competition, Dark and Intense Emotions, Desire, Fear, Fear of Loss, Guilt, Healing, Holy Spirit, Mind, Miracle Worker, People-Pleasing, Perception, Rejection, Responsibility, True Peace
The ego’s identity is very shaky! It is constantly searching for approval from the world. Notice when you are tempted to use people-pleasing in order to feel liked, or feel good about yourself. The only way that you can be free of people-pleasing is to get down to your underlying beliefs and assumptions. These beliefs are underneath the stream of thoughts that happen on the surface of your everyday life. You get a lot of opportunities on a daily basis to let the Spirit help you navigate your mind and the world that is projected from your mind!
Living with Purpose 5–10 mins, Creation and Extension, Dedication and Devotion, Desire, Feelings of Lack, God, Miracles, Purpose, Self-Concept, Separation, Surrender, Time and Space
How do you change something that is not real? How do you live in a world that was made as an attack on God? What is the purpose of my life? As long as you believe in the ego, you’ll seem to have needs. When you’re coming from a place of lack, you don’t make the jump from needing things to needing nothing. The Holy Spirit uses the seeming needs to lift us higher until we realize we don’t have any needs. Enlightenment is an emptying out of all self-concepts and is a state of being. We now give all our seeming talents and needs to the Holy Spirit for the ultimate re-translation.
Living with Purpose 5–10 mins, Awareness, Desire, Empty Your Mind, Holy Instant, Jesus, Meditation, Presence, Time and Space
Meditation is generally considered as an activity on the timeline, to still the mind. In reality it’s not an activity. Release time-related concepts such as preparation. Empty your mind. You can only desire the holy instant. Give yourself over to the desire for the peace of God.
Depression 5–10 mins, Awakening, Desire, Ego, Fear, Holy Instant, Love, Present Moment, Readiness and Willingness, Spiritual Journey, Struggle
In this “A Course in Miracles” Toowoomba, Australia gathering, David and his friend Rob discuss the journey from a point of fear to love. Overcome the grips of fear and forgiving, and open to the experience of God’s Love. When we discover what it takes to let go of the ego, there is an intense amount of fear. We are completely unaware of this fact in our normal lives because we have endless places to project it onto. Yet just having the willingness to go through the fear and open up to love is enough. We don’t need to be concerned with conquering the ego because we will be given all we need to walk through our fear. We’re even given brothers to walk through the fear with.
