Miracles are involuntary and they cannot be controlled. This is how a joyful life is lived, by letting go and letting God; by not trying to control the world, and not trying to plan for the future. It’s okay to let go, you will not die by letting go of control, you will actually live!
Trust 5–10 mins, Christ-Identity, Contentment and Happiness, Ego, Guidance, Hallucination, Planning, Prayer, Purpose, Self-Concepts, Time and Space, Trust, Undoing the Ego
Jesus will guide us so our journey is smooth and joyful. We only feel pain and sacrifice when we resist. Plan Bs are resistance, used to support the self-concept rather than the Christ Self. Yet the Holy Spirit and Jesus show us that trust is justified. Are we willing to trust so much that we let go of our plan Bs? Our problem is that first we decide what we want, and then we ask for guidance. The asking needs to come first. When we are identified with a self-concept we don’t know our best interests; we are completely lost and need the help of the Holy Spirit. Thankfully, that help is available to us anytime we ask for it
Living with Purpose 5–10 mins, Alignment with Spirit, Cause and Effect, Mind Training, Non-Judgment, Victimhood, Worldly Issues
Nothing of the world can give you peace and nothing of the world can take it away. It is purely an intrinsic matter. You will always draw forth witnesses to what you believe, and when you call forth ego witnesses, you need merely call on the Holy Spirit to help you see them differently.
Family Conflict 5–10 mins, Anxiety, Children, Concern and Worry, Family, Parenting, Prayer, Protection, Specialness
When someone you are concerned about (such as a daughter) keeps coming to mind, it is a Call for Love to bring to the Holy Spirit. It may or may not call for a specific action (such as calling or emailing the person), but it is always helpful to take it to prayer and look at one’s thoughts. The ego has set up many “ego ideals” such as being a “good-enough mother”, and it’s important to look with honesty at these thoughts and be willing to release them with Spirit’s Help.
Inspiration 5–10 mins, Anxiety, Concern and Worry, Ego, Fear, Fear of Loss, Identity Confusion, Metaphysics, Movie-Watching, Obstacles, Undoing the Ego
To go from desperation to inspiration is allowing yourself to be done through by spirit. In his book “Walden,” Henry David Thoreau wrote, “The mass of men lead lives of quiet desperation.” This certainly applies to the human condition, which is a projection of the ego, or the belief in separation from God. Everyone who believes they are in this world has a deep, unconscious fear of God, which is experienced as a fear of future consequences. In David’s life, he began to recognize how much his life and his behaviors were motivated by this fear of consequences and how this was leading him nowhere.
Guidance 5–10 mins, A Course in Miracles, Body, Dark and Intense Emotions, Face of Innocence, From Darkness to Light, Guidance, Hopelessness, Intuition, Letting Go, Spiritual Journey, True Forgiveness
The mind that is lost in darkness needs an experience of divine Love to know that there is hope. “A Course in Miracles” is a powerful tool used to witness the light that Jesus brings to the world. We can shine our way out of hell, if we let Spirit make the rescue. It’s a journey of letting go of everything that seems to be interpreted through our five senses, because they are extremely unreliable witnesses, and choosing instead to see our brothers and sisters as innocent. Spirit sees only the truth of our innocence.
Living with Purpose 5–10 mins, Attachments, Communication, Comparison, Expression Sessions, Form and Content, Idols, Jesus, Mind Training, Purpose, Self-Honesty, Symbols
Is storytelling good or bad? The ego made up all the stories, and will use storytelling to justify emotions and to reinforce the personality identity. Yet storytelling can also be used by the Spirit to heal and bless. The real question to ask is, “What is the point, the purpose, of the story?” Just as Jesus only told stories that had a clear point and purpose to them, so too should we be equally mindful as to why we are telling a story.
Health and Sickness 5–10 mins, A Course in Miracles, Body, Body Issues, Denial and Repression, Form and Content, Healing, Health, Meditation, Mind Training, Perception, Practical Steps, Reflections, Self-Improvement, Spiritual Journey, Symbols, Uncovering Blocks
The chakra system is not mentioned in “A Course in Miracles,” for it is merely another set of symbols that can be used by the Holy Spirit or by the ego, depending on one’s purpose. Used by the Spirit, the chakra system could be a helpful stepping stone in one’s journey towards getting in touch with one’s mind. Used by the ego, it can be a delay maneuver that keeps the mind believing there is causation in form.
Guidance 5–10 mins, Ego, Guidance, Listen and Follow, Making Decisions, Mind Training, Past–Future Thoughts, Planning, Practical Steps, Present Moment, Spirit-Invitation, Transcendence
When you are willing, you can stop being distracted by the ego’s trick of linear time and allow Spirit to show you, very specifically, what to do next. ACIM daily lessons direct the mind out of the maze of linear time. Lesson 32 says, “I have invented the world I see.” To be human is to make images, to imagine hypothetical possibilities for the future. There is a lot of fear in this process. The ego mind keeps generating a future, which is just a construct, to keep the guilt going. Concern for the future is a defense against the present moment.
Stress and Worry 5–10 mins, Attack Thoughts, Beliefs and Concepts, Control, Dark and Intense Emotions, Desire to Change the World, Expressing, Metaphysical Ghosting, Mind Training, Teaching, Upset
What does it mean to be honest with yourself? If you think you are a person bound by time and space, then you haven’t been honest enough. Therefore, first things first: you need to turn towards getting truly honest, and never look back. Be honest with how you feel. You don’t have to try to avoid the emotions. You can have an attitude in your heart of, “Show me, guide me. Expose what I believe in.” What lies beneath your upset?
