When you are willing, you can stop being distracted by the ego’s trick of linear time and allow Spirit to show you, very specifically, what to do next. ACIM daily lessons direct the mind out of the maze of linear time. Lesson 32 says, “I have invented the world I see.” To be human is to make images, to imagine hypothetical possibilities for the future. There is a lot of fear in this process. The ego mind keeps generating a future, which is just a construct, to keep the guilt going. Concern for the future is a defense against the present moment.

Your Transcendent Life
The mind has become the slave of the body, doing meaningless things. You are a transcendent being. Use the body as a miracle worker for the glory of God, as a blessing for the whole universe. You are headed for joy and peace! In this illusion, the body has become the end—pleasure, comfort, and convenience are all for the body. In the Kingdom of Heaven, minds don’t work to give the body a life because there is no body to have a life. Everything is reversed here. Here, mind seems private and separate and has its own private thoughts and that it has to work out life.
Who Can I Trust?
“A Course in Miracles” says that trust is key to learning to hear guidance. Trusting David and the Messengers of Peace is a way to start. It takes great trust, willingness and readiness to hear Spirit.
An Uncompromising Path to God (Part 4)
David Hoffmeister has been teaching the principals found in ACIM for many years. He has been uncompromising in his practice of what the Course teaches. Because of his uncompromising approach, he is now a living demonstration of the Awakened Mind. As “A Course in Miracles” states: “You will learn this Course completely or not at all.” This series of videos recorded at the Kalani retreat center in Hawaii helps one to understand some of the steps required to awaken to the clear and beautiful state that the Course describes as the Christ Mind. Enjoy!
Following the Holy Spirit and Relationships
David explains how listening to and following the Holy Spirit brings peace and joy, as old relationships seem to be let go and new relationships that serve the Holy Spirit’s purpose come into awareness. Jesus says in A Course in Miracles that the only right use of judgment is asking yourself, “How do I feel?” If you start to get prompted to call certain people, and after the call you feel a certain vitality, then it shows the prompt came from the Holy Spirit. You listened, followed, and got the experience. If you find yourself being depressed, feeling fatigued or dispirited, and saying, “Wow, I’m glad I got that over with.” Then the prompts are coming in from guilt. All these relationships have guilt in them. Now the Holy Spirit is saying, the way out of the guilt is giving all the relationships to the Holy Spirit.
Service
There is a high burnout rate in the field of Social Service because it is often mixed with the ego. Don’t serve because you think there is a need. Release misperceptions from your mind. See your brothers’ wholeness and completeness. When you are in divine service you are inspired. David said “yes” to Spirit and was in joy in his world travels. If you are happy, the whole world is too. All service is Self service.
The Fun Way to God
Lets have fun with spirituality! The pathway to God is one of following your bliss and joy. Movie-watching has been an essential part in David Hoffmeister’s journey—the glee and happiness he feels from watching movies with the Holy Spirit’s Vision can be felt by those watching with him. Mystical experiences among his audience are not uncommon!
Holy Spirit Lesson in Guidance
David recalls a parable of his life from a trip with his then-girlfriend Janie in 1995. David was told by the Holy Spirit: “I am the Destination, and I will tell you the direction” prior to the trip. Hear what happened along the trip.
Opening to Spirit
David Hoffmeister shares the steps of Awakening by using movie references to “Being There” and “The Matrix.” Raj shares a story of being directed by Spirit and following instructions, and of a free postage day in New Zealand that allows him to publish the magazine he was guided to take to New Zealand.
Discernment
David opens the session by talking about how, on the spiritual journey, the ego feels like it’s getting chased out of its hiding places like a spider down in a well. Also, how, at times, the spiritual journey can get disorienting as things start to seem less “solid” and more surreal, but how this starts to be experienced as relaxing and new. There are also phases when there don’t seem to be external witnesses for the Spirit, and this is a call to go deeper and rely more on the inner guidance. He also talks about letting the Spirit speak through you without censorship. But when you share this message, it is not always going to go over well with people, and that’s okay. There’s no need to convert people to “A Course in Miracles.” It’s always about peace for oneself and that’s it. David talks about when someone once asked him why he goes anywhere if everything is perfect, and he affirms that, “Yes, there’s no impetus to change anything.” The ego will try to commercialize spirituality like what’s happened to most holidays. Jesus is just a symbol of the unreality of this world and the Love that is true. You don’t need to be perfect in form. Accept your perfection only in Spirit. Be gentle with yourself and follow the prompts you receive.
