Miracles are involuntary and they cannot be controlled. This is how a joyful life is lived, by letting go and letting God; by not trying to control the world, and not trying to plan for the future. It’s okay to let go, you will not die by letting go of control, you will actually live!
Clueless
Opening to Spirit
David Hoffmeister shares the steps of Awakening by using movie references to “Being There” and “The Matrix.” Raj shares a story of being directed by Spirit and following instructions, and of a free postage day in New Zealand that allows him to publish the magazine he was guided to take to New Zealand.
52-Card Pickup
David Hoffmeister talks about turning your life and relationships over to the Spirit and letting go of attachment, control, and past associations. This 52-Card Pickup metaphor has the Holy Spirit redealing the deck as witnesses to the new purpose are called forth and given to replace those of the old (ego) purpose that previously dealt the deck.
The Joy of Cluelessness
Sickness is the ego’s fragmented perception focusing on the body, on form. There is no cure at the form level because the ego is an impossible cause. Give up searching at the form level and become clueless. Forgiveness provides the healing. God is true causation. The miracle lifts you up to the healing found in the mind.
ACIM Talk (Part 11)
David talks about relaxing and trusting the divine flow in Tilba, Australia, 2009.
Autonomy
Autonomy is a more subtle form of specialness. God creates and creation is extension. Spirit creates Spirit. This is what Jesus calls true autonomy. What counts as autonomy in this world is independence, which is a false sense of autonomy. The spiritual path leads to the realization that “I Am-ness” is so more vast than we can imagine. There are many praises of autonomy in Western culture and great fear can arise around the idea of losing personal independence. However, both personal identity and collective identity are false constructs. Complete God-dependence is a feeling of trust and being completely taken care of without any risk.
Release Specialness
Release specialness by forgetting the past, releasing it, and finding happiness in the present moment. Release judgment, give past and future over to God, and stop worrying. The future is a scam. “If there are plans to make, you will be told of them.” (W-135.23:2) Let Spirit decide for you.
Suicidal Depression without Judgment
Allow yourself to feel what you feel without judging it. Don’t conclude anything about your identity as a result. Suicidal depression is the conclusion that your life is worthless, but your ego laughs and pursues you beyond the grave. Just let the feelings come and go, release them.
Dismantling the Ego
Dismantling the ego is a journey that is guided by by the Holy Spirit. To the ego, the dismantling seems to be a big threat. But it is not an ending, it is an opening. You are opening to a completely new way of being. You enter into the journey with out any clue of where the path will lead. It’s like a ride at an amusement park where the floor keeps dropping out, free-falling until there is nothing left to grasp. At times many memories surface, childhood memories, dark closets, closed doors. It is about opening these doors until there is nothing left.
Feelings of Unworthiness
You have to be willing to be wrong about everything; expose it and trust you will be embraced. Let the self-concept crumble. You may hesitate to connect. Do it. Spill the beans. Unconditional love is there and will wash it away. Feelings of unworthiness are buried, held deep in the mind. Healing occurs when they are exposed into awareness. Through “A Course in Miracles,” Jesus reminds you that you are worthy of love and that the love is there when things crumble. ACIM points you towards your true identity: a love beyond this world. You are so worthy of love.
