A plan B is anything we have in mind for our future happiness while ignoring the present moment. We are fighting ourselves with these distractive plan Bs. To be happy we need to trust the present Love of God, to trust it so much that we give up the plan Bs. In no situation do we know our own best interests. Yet we think we do. We tend to first decide what we want and then ask Spirit for direction. Instead, by deciding not to decide, we can open ourselves to let Spirit decide for us. In this way we come to experience that all real pleasure comes from doing God’s will.
Choice and Free Will
There is no true answer to the question, “How did the separation happen?” A short while into the scribing of A Course in Miracles, Helen and Bill asked Jesus, “Wait a minute! How could the separation have happened in the first place!?” Jesus’ answer was, “You can tell by your emotions that you believe it happened!” In this humorous and insightful video, David expounds on this answer from Jesus by explaining how the Course was written for the mind that believes in the separation and therefore must meet the mind where it believes it is. All the things of this world which hold no value are magnified by the ego as a distraction. It is an upside-down and backwards world we live in.
The belief in separation is actually the belief in impossibility. The ego created the world. God did not create the world. You can’t connect a God of Love to a distorted perceptual world where there seem to be so many problems. We have a belief in the concept of duality. This is an error. This very error has to be exposed. We have to look at this error together and expose its falsity. This whole world was made as a giant hiding place. Duality is in the mind, not in the world. When the mind decided to take the idea seriously (forgot to laugh) the whole cosmos was created as a giant fig leaf to cover up the belief in shame and guilt. You have to look within and see and expose the shame for the nothingness it is instead of trying to project it into time and space. The problem is not time and space, it is in your mind that made up the belief. We need to release the error and realize that it has no consequence. The instant the error seemed to arise the Answer was given.
We are often tempted to choose where it’s not really possible. Most of the choices we make in this world are of the same order, and the questions we typically ask make no sense in Reality. Choices become easier when we follow the Holy Spirit (peace); we will feel in harmony and flow with life. Ask only one question in any situation: “What is it for?” That’s very different from the ego saying, “What are the pros and cons here?” A mind in turmoil is not an inspired place from which to make decisions.a
Rest in your heart because everything is all right. It’s all in your mind for you to see as a miracle. The miracle is a shift in perspective. The miracle is contagious because we are all one mind. The world is a reflection of your inner state. Collect witnesses to miracles and you will be convinced.

Look at your thoughts. Are my thoughts fearful? What is the purpose or motive underneath? Believing there is spirit in matter, in doing certain behaviors, is to miss the point. Let those thoughts go. You are a saint in training. Purify your mind. Begin to think of yourself as holy. Focus on your mind, not form. Remind yourself, “I am worth the goal of peace of mind.”
A clip, from the May/June 2010 retreat at the Living Miracles Monastery, looking at the metaphor of “the script is written” and freeing the mind from the belief in choice in form in order for the mind to relax into stillness. “Seek not to change the world, but choose to change your mind about the world.” (T-21.in.1:7)
Feeling an obligation to complete anything in form keeps you in the loop of involuntary choices. When you release fear from your mind, you’ll see that perception is unified, which carries with it no consequences. Life has its own gentle voice, reminding us we’re never alone.
