What do I value in my life? I want a measurement for how to tell if something has value for me on this spiritual journey.  If it doesn’t have value, why would I want it?

A Course in Miracles gives you the measurement, beautifully and clearly spelled out: “If you choose a thing that will not last forever, what you choose is valueless.” (ACIM, W-133.6.) Through A Course in Miracles daily lessons, the awakening mind is trained to set aside the ego’s goals, and choose instead with Spirit. The confused mind is trained to think with the Holy Spirit. This is a change in direction towards peace and away from fear.

“Anything in linear time is a lie—not real—and eternity is real. In fact, A Course in Miracles’ Workbook Lesson 133 says, ‘I will not value what is valueless.’ Jesus gives the criterion in Lesson 133 of what is valuable and valueless: if it will not last forever, it has no value whatsoever. That is his only criterion! He only has one criterion.

Isn’t it great that he gives it to you straight? It is not watered down at all. That is what we love about the presence that came through the book. The deeper you go into that experience this is something that will become clearer and clearer in mind.”

On your journey, you’ve thought about what is important to you and why. In this world you seem to have time, energy, money, assets, and you seem to have to decide how to “spend” these things. You can say, “Holy Spirit, decide for me.”

Ownership is a concept. The deceived mind thinks that it can own things. Everything is symbols. There is a state of mind that you can enter in to that sees everything as symbols, given you by the Holy Spirit. This is the forgiven world. The idea of owning evaporates and is dissolved away completely.
