What is all this rage about? The rage that comes up when we really seriously begin our mind-watching is not personal. It is the collective ego raising its ugly head in its last defense against God; against Truth.
The rage is like an ugly beast hidden in a cave. You need trust in order to face this ugly beast! Trust in the Holy Spirit. You can not approach this beast without the Holy Spirit at your side.
What is this beast? Who is raging? It’s not the personality-self, the mask, that is raging. It’s not David’s rage, or Tom’s rage. It’s the collective ego which is buried down in the mind. The ego is like a splinter. It’s annoying. It’s irritating. When you really go in after it, it’s very painful! The ego is raging at God. The closer you get to it, the more you feel it’s rage and fury.
When you look closely, you see that the ego has invented its own god. And who would want to know the god of the Old Testament? Those descriptions are terribly dark. He’s vengeful and full of rage. It’s not surprising that there are millions of proclaimed atheists; this picture of god is not pretty.
You can let all that self-hatred up and it will not kill you! Let all that rage up and see what’s underneath. Surprisingly, Light and Love is the aftermath of uncovering all this rage that seems so overwhelming at first.
