Worthiness
An Uncompromising Path to God (Part 5)
David Hoffmeister has been teaching the principals found in ACIM for many years. He has been uncompromising in his practice of what the Course teaches. Because of his uncompromising approach, he is now a living demonstration of the Awakened Mind. As “A Course in Miracles” states: “You will learn this Course completely or not at all.” This series of videos recorded at the Kalani retreat center in Hawaii helps one to understand some of the steps required to awaken to the clear and beautiful state that the Course describes as the Christ Mind. Enjoy!

Unworthiness and Miracles
Fear of experiencing miracles comes from our deep-seated unworthiness that we are not worthy of love. We need new experiences—miracles—that contradict our limited sense of self. We are afraid to drop the mask and experience our power because we think we misused our power and are afraid of experiencing it again. The ego would keep us small. So, “A Course in Miracles” reminds us of how worthy we are. You are worthy of experiencing miracles. The mind has a deep sense of being not worthy, but the Spirit is trustworthy and worthy of your trust in Him. The belief in being unworthy of love runs deep in the mind, but it is a worthy task to allow feelings of unworthiness to come up for healing. Healing is something you’re worthy of, and you can embrace your own self worth now.
The Best Things in Life Are Free
David speaks at the summer “A Course in Miracles” (ACIM) retreat in Kentucky and talks about the symbols of the end of possession and ownership in freely receiving from and giving with the Holy Spirit. Only the ideas of God can be shared. These are the teachings and application of Jesus in a living experience.
How Will You Spend Your Life?
In this gathering in Toowoomba, Australia, David explores the question of one’s life purpose. He shares the teaching that it is not that you ask for too much of life, you ask for far too little. David shares a parable about his Australian friend Les, who has called upon Spirit for answers and received all that he asked for.
Learning Opportunities
Learning opportunities gently repeat until you choose again for healing. Suspend your judgments and conclusions and keep opening to the Holy Spirit. Be gentle with yourself and others. You are so loved.
Feelings of Unworthiness
You have to be willing to be wrong about everything; expose it and trust you will be embraced. Let the self-concept crumble. You may hesitate to connect. Do it. Spill the beans. Unconditional love is there and will wash it away. Feelings of unworthiness are buried, held deep in the mind. Healing occurs when they are exposed into awareness. Through “A Course in Miracles,” Jesus reminds you that you are worthy of love and that the love is there when things crumble. ACIM points you towards your true identity: a love beyond this world. You are so worthy of love.
Allow Yourself to Be Spiritually Awakened
You cannot wake yourself, but you can allow yourself to be spiritually awakened. Resign now as your own teacher and call for Spirit’s help. Be “taught through,” by demonstrating a forgiving attitude. Desire the peace of mind that you deserve. You may encounter ego backlash. Don’t analyze the darkness; say “oops” and hand it over to the Holy Spirit.
Is Manifesting Possible?
Manifesting demonstrates the power of the mind. But manifesting is asking for the past to be repeated in a form you think you would prefer. What do you really want? The past is gone; the future is but imagined. They are defenses against the truth of the holy instant. Peace of mind is more important. Don’t settle for crumbs.
