An Uncompromising Path to God (Part 5)
David Hoffmeister has been teaching the principals found in ACIM for many years. He has been uncompromising in his practice of what the Course teaches. Because of his uncompromising approach, he is now a living demonstration of the Awakened Mind. As “A Course in Miracles” states: “You will learn this Course completely or not at all.” This series of videos recorded at the Kalani retreat center in Hawaii helps one to understand some of the steps required to awaken to the clear and beautiful state that the Course describes as the Christ Mind. Enjoy!
An Inspired Life
Jesus led an inspired life, and that is what you are aiming for. Purpose is being guided, being inspired, and becoming aligned with God. And then that expresses. This is not about making distinctions in form, such as equating stillness with sitting in the lotus position.
When Spirit Speaks Through
The words are expressed in joy, without any choice. It is a showering of what is beneficial for the whole. The inner critic fades away. Let’s be about it!
The Escape Hatch
Jesus teaches in ACIM that this cosmos is built like a prison for our mind. Therefore we must look closely at the shadows within to discover if they are true or untrue. Holy Spirit knows the illusion is not real, so he is the very best guide out of the prison, not the symbols themselves. Give them to the Holy Spirit and see the healing happen through them.
Forms of Spiritual Guidance
Guidance can come in the form of feelings, intuitions, words, streams of thought, signs and symbols in the world like billboards and bumper stickers, opening ACIM as an oracle, other books, music playing in restaurants or on the car radio, dreams, journalling, art, and more! Gradually you link into a glorious flow that draws you inward. Synchronicities show that it’s all just reflections of thought. Take the limits off. Pay attention and stay open.
David talks about how words are used by the ego to keep us reliving the experience of separation. He shares how beautiful it is to release our attachment and fixed beliefs around these words and go beyond them to true connection with our brothers and sisters.
David answers a question about how Jesus would talk to him (David).
Misuse of Guidance
The Holy Spirit is the Voice for God. David talks about how the ego can misuse guidance.
Using Words as Denial: The Misuse of A Course in Miracles
David Hoffmeister is asked about the ego and the defense of simply attempting to use words to deny the “reality” of the world. David talks about how unconscious beliefs must be undone and how it is important to go through the darkness to the light.
