It takes a lot of mind training to become clear about your yes and no. In our community we use the elder brother approach. One who has gone before and who is consistently peaceful is someone to join with. The ego is concerned with autonomy. It takes much letting go of autonomous decisions to come into alignment with the Holy Spirit, to be done through by Spirit.
On the spiritual journey there is a discipline, a mind training, to undo the doer. Experiment with the steps. We seem to have a sense of self-doubt and fear of getting a bad evaluation. Wouldn’t it be nice to transcend that, to just show up in presence and let go into the flow?! The Holy Spirit gives you the gifts, the miracles, to give from the storehouse of your mind moment to moment.
There is no group; it’s just a metaphor. There is one Voice. Two who are deeply attuned can hear the same thing at the same time. The guidance is important, not the form. Trust the Holy Spirit’s guidance, listen to it and follow it.
The Holy Spirit works with the mind where it believes it is. In the beginning, there seems to be a deep fear of joining. The ego looks at joining with our brothers as a way to get something. As we open to what is given and guided by Holy Spirit, the fear and resistance is washed away and our joining becomes one of what can I give, instead of what can I get.
Guidance 5–10 mins, Divine Providence, Fear, Guidance, Holy Encounters, Possession and Ownership, Self-Concept, Symbols, Trust
We not only project the body, we then project upon the body. We do this with cars and hang our identity on them. Once we take our steps to the realization that all is divinely given, we will realize our worth lies in nothing of this world.
Trust 5–10 mins, Family, Jesus, Perception, Present Moment, Script Is Written, State of Mind, Time and Space, Trust
David Hoffmeister talks about the need to let the Holy Spirit undo the ego and its false “responsibilities” by developing trust in the Holy Spirit.
David recaps the zombie movie, “Warm Bodies,” and shows us that the story is not so different that our own as we wake up. We learn how to communicate, learn how to change our minds, learn how to forgive, and ultimately, learn how to love.
Trust 5–10 mins, Desire, From Darkness to Light, Guidance, Present Moment, Spiritual Journey, Trust, Unified Perception
At first, forgiveness seems to deal with specifics, as if something in the world had a real cause and effect. It may seem that something you thought you had forgiven reappears. This is an opportunity to go deeper in the mind to get at the very root of the seeming problem. One begins to see there is only one problem and one solution, not many differing problems. This is the good news!
Trust 10–30 mins, Career and Work, God's Plan, Guidance, Intuition, Money and Finances, Personality-Self, Questioning, True Peace, Trust
David Hoffmeister shares about how he was guided to start traveling around 1991 and how that was a big lesson in trust. There are many sections in A Course in Miracles (ACIM) which state that if we trust, everything we seem to need will be taken care of. This world is layer upon layer of much ado about nothing and it all has to be unlearned. ACIM is a course in unlearning. You have to empty your mind. While you still believe there is time and space to move through, you will be guided gently, easily, and gracefully.
Trust 5–10 mins, Awareness Of Dreaming, Consistent Experience, Dreamer of the Dream, Miracles, Planning, Spiritual Journey, Trust
Letting go of control and letting everything be given by Spirit is a radical life change. It is as radical as learning to breath liquid oxygen. You will experience periods of disorientation and come out soaring. The Course prepares you for being miracle-minded, even helping you remove the special relationship. Every miracle reinforces the awareness that life is but a dream.
