Miracles are involuntary and they cannot be controlled. This is how a joyful life is lived, by letting go and letting God; by not trying to control the world, and not trying to plan for the future. It’s okay to let go, you will not die by letting go of control, you will actually live!
True Freedom
Thy Will Be Done
“Thy Will be done” is the ultimate prayer for realigning the mind to the Will of God. It is the remembering that we have one Will in which we share with God. All deep spiritual practices emphasize emptying the mind of all concepts of who we think we are, and coming to the realization of Who we truly are. As we let go of the personality self we transcend into the recognition of our Christ Self, our true Identity. This journey is not about seeking to change the form for a better worldly outcome, but changing the very way we look upon the world. The goal is a pristine state of mind beyond all judgement of good and bad. There is an experience to be beheld where we already have everything, and are everything.
Forgive What the Ego Made and Be Free
The goal of spiritual practice is to be in the flow of presence, to be tuned in to Spirit. Here we learn to forgive all perceptions of suffering and lack we have placed upon the world. Decision-making becomes simple and easy with the Spirit. It only seems difficult when we attempt to run some aspects of our lives by ourselves. This is where all sense of struggle comes in. When we completely let go and let God, all struggling comes to an end. In its place we find happiness, joy and freedom.
Sexual Repression & Promiscuity
The Spirit will unwind our mind from all the sexual repression and denial that has gone on, and it will use symbols in a highly individualized way depending on each person’s patterns. For example, one who has been very sexually promiscuous in the past may very well be Guided to be celibate for a time. On the other hand, one who has repressed their sexuality may be Guided to start having more sexual experiences which undo old ideas about what sexuality means. In either case…
ACIM and Raising Children
Every symbol and image that you see with the body’s eyes is a reflection. When you look at a child, you can see the child as a mirror of your mind. Any grievances and limits you see in the child are within your own mind. If you are practicing ACIM and raising children, you see what is taking place in your thoughts. As children go through grade school and into high school, you can look at your own beliefs about authority, normalcy, education and success.
What Is True Happiness? How Can I Find It?
You have been exerting a lot of mind energy trying to find love, freedom, happiness, and peace in the wrong direction: the world. Put all of your trust in the Spirit, and look closely and honestly at where your mind energy goes. What are you invested in? What are you putting your trust in? Nutrition, economics, being liked? A Course in Miracles teaches us, that to find lasting peace and happiness, we must start to withdraw our attention and focus from the thoughts of this world—the ego belief system—and start reinvesting our trust in that which will bring true fruition, true peace of mind. What is true happiness? It is not found in this world. You are entitled to peace, happiness, and joy; but you have forgotten who you are and are looking to the world for these things. The Holy Spirit is calling you out of this world and its belief system. This is the only worthy cause to put your mind energy into. It is one thing to say the words, “I trust you Holy Spirit and I want to hear you.” But most of the work with A Course in Miracles is taking a very close, honest look at the idea of, What have I invested in? It isn’t even a matter of having more trust. You can run a “guilt trip” on yourself even for that. For example, “I don’t have enough trust, I need to trust more.” It isn’t so much a more-or-less-thing, but it is withdrawing our belief and trust in the ego’s belief system and instead trusting in guidance.
Divine Providence
Lesson 50 of A Course in Miracles: “I am sustained by the Love of God.” In that lesson, Jesus tells us that, “In this world, you believe you are sustained by everything but God.” By following the Holy Spirit’s prompts we begin to trust that we will be divinely provided for in every circumstance.
An Uncompromising Path to God (Part 3)
David Hoffmeister has been teaching the principals found in ACIM for many years. He has been uncompromising in his practice of what the Course teaches. Because of his uncompromising approach, he is now a living demonstration of the Awakened Mind. As “A Course in Miracles” states: “You will learn this Course completely or not at all.” This series of videos recorded at the Kalani retreat center in Hawaii helps one to understand some of the steps required to awaken to the clear and beautiful state that the Course describes as the Christ Mind. Enjoy!
The Best Things in Life Are Free
David speaks at the summer “A Course in Miracles” (ACIM) retreat in Kentucky and talks about the symbols of the end of possession and ownership in freely receiving from and giving with the Holy Spirit. Only the ideas of God can be shared. These are the teachings and application of Jesus in a living experience.
