When someone is crying, we usually perceive it as the release of deep emotions of sadness or joy. But the truth is that everything we see on the screen of the world was projected for the purpose of keeping us from knowing who we are. Separation is the name of the ego’s game, and perception is its playing field, and it relies on the “I-know” mind, the assumption that we know what things mean, to keep us in the game. The Holy Spirit wants to use perception instead for the purpose of bringing us back to a state of “unified playing,” which is the happy dream. Forgiveness is letting the Holy Spirit show you the world anew, after you have released all meaning that was given to the world.
True and False Empathy
If God Is Real, There Is No Pain
Here is a great gem from David’s ACIM videos. Find out how to pin-point where you get tripped-up with perceiving upsets as being outside of your own mind. See that there is no pain in reality; the thought of pain originates in the sleeping mind. “A Course in Miracles” quotes Jesus’s teaching: “All things work together for good. There are no exceptions except in the ego’s judgment.” (T 4.V.1.1) No exceptions! That means that what the ego experiences as a pain is working for good.
Give up Protecting
Give up the idea of protection. What are you protecting? Evil is not real. There is nothing other than God. The ego is not real. Only the truth is true. You are the dreamer.
True Empathy and Releasing the Blocks to Love
David Hoffmeister shares a message about staying with what is true and releasing everything else from consciousness. This ACIM gathering was hosted at the Temple of Peace in Maui, Hawaii. Witnessing the state of Enlightenment is most natural.
True Empathy vs. False Empathy
If you ever find yourself making a choice between the matrix and the Source, go for the Source. Jesus is teaching us that you have to bring the illusions to the truth. Don’t ask Jesus to fix your life. Instead, bring all your crazy beliefs about your life to the light within so that they will disappear. Let the darkness come up and it will be seen in light for what it is: nothing.
False or True Empathy
False empathy, or care-taking, is generally seen as being nice and good, but it is part of the ego’s death wish. When you give yourself over to Spirit, your perception of what is truly helpful will change. You come to see that you were engaged in trying to save people. It is deception. True empathy is aligning with what is true, bringing it back to your mind, paying attention to your feelings, and not taking on anything false. You no longer care about others’ reactions. You become happy for no earthly reason.
False Empathy
False empathy is wrong-mindedness or an attempt to yield to temptation. In the human mask-wearing condition, it seems natural to empathize with erroneous thinking. Self-concept ideas must all be let go of. True empathy identifies with the Christ-self and aligns with the truth, freedom, and joy of the Holy Spirit.
Practical Application of A Course in Miracles
Practical application of “A Course in Miracles” begins with a step similar to that of a twelve-step program. First you must see that there is a problem. Acknowledge your perceptual problem, your hallucination, schizophrenia, and psychosis. The mind needs healing. Expose your dark thoughts, beliefs, and interpretations and the Holy Spirit will heal them. Work through the Instrument for Peace in the book “Awakening through A Course in Miracles.”
True Empathy
True Empathy is staying with the Christ, with what is real and true, regardless of the form or circumstance. David Hoffmeister shares about a life experience using true empathy while visiting a dying man in a Catholic home. This was not the David character speaking but instead, the experience of giving himself over for the Holy Spirit’s purposes in an uncompromising way. The ego and its thick layers of people-pleasing covers over the small, little self.
