David recalls a parable of his life from a trip with his then-girlfriend Janie in 1995. David was told by the Holy Spirit: “I am the Destination, and I will tell you the direction” prior to the trip. Hear what happened along the trip.

Guidance 5–10 mins, Discernment, Ego, Judgments, Mind Training, Miracle Worker, Miracles, Pain, Pleasure, Theory vs Experience, True Joy
In this David Hoffmeister ACIM teaching, we dive into the topic of discernment. Becoming aware of the difference between the voice of the ego and the Voice of the Spirit is our life’s work. It is a gradual and gentle process. David shares on his own experience of getting in touch with feelings and intuition, following the Spirit, and finding joy and freedom. The best way to discern between the voice of the ego and Spirit is to ask yourself, “How do I feel?” The ego generates a lot of feel-good disguises. But it is impossible to seek for pleasure without finding pain. It is as if you got an electric shock every time you had sex. This discernment work takes deep introspection and inner work. Only the miracle gives you everything you want. Yet it costs you nothing; there is no deprivation. Just follow the tickle of your heart, of your intuition, which will lead you to the truth.

Stress and Worry 5–10 mins, Accepting Correction, Awareness, Christ-Identity, Dreaming, Oneness, Separation, Theory vs Experience
David Hoffmeister shares an afternoon ACIM workshop titled, “I Could See Peace Instead of This.” They offer teachings and practical application of forgiveness as presented in the book, “A Course in Miracles,” with lots of examples and metaphors.
David answers questions about replacing words in the Course that you can’t seem to relate to with words that resonate with you. For instance, if you have a hard time relating to a word such as guilt, you could use the word pain instead. ACIM is experiential and whatever is most helpful for you is appropriate.
Stress and Worry 5–10 mins, Bringing Illusions to Truth, Christ-Identity, Denial and Repression, Fear of Loss, Healing, Judgments, Non-Compromise, Theory vs Experience, Undoing the Ego
This discussion follows a viewing of the “Star Trek” episode, “The Thaw,” which illustrates how the ego operates and uses fear. The first question to ask on the spiritual journey is, “What aspect of the dream do you like?” The likes and dislikes are both part of a judgment system to keep the mind asleep. The dreams you think you like can hold you back just as much as the dreams in which the fear is apparent. The things you like are part of the prison without you knowing it. The mind is enmeshed and addicted to fear.
Health and Sickness 5–10 mins, Body, Cancer, Death, Guilt, Illusion vs Reality, Miracles, Perception, Projection, Quantum Physics, Theory vs Experience, Uncovering Blocks
David Hoffmeister talks about quantum physics, projection, sickness as mental, death as any upset, and concludes with an example of healing through the ideas of “A Course in Miracles.”
The ego is never still, it never arrives, it’s always perpetually striving for nothing. This leads to an enormous amount of fear. Giving our lives over to the Holy Spirit lifts us gradually into an experience of joy.
Unwinding from the world is a process. You start to see every situation as just a situation of thoughts. Jesus taught defenselessness, saying when a man asks for your coat, give him your cloak as well. This is a high teaching! The Spirit of Love has nothing to defend, so when we are aligned with Love, we have nothing to defend. David Hoffmeister shares that he has given his life over to Spirit to be a living demonstration of Jesus’ teachings. He has worked on his own consciousness, praying rather than trying to change people or defend. We can live in abundance and innocence. All is divine perfection!
