Specialness is all we’ve known, and the painful part is exposing it. There is seemingly a lot of heartbreak in this unconscious belief in loss. But as you go through it and get deeper into your purpose, you realize you will only be content with a happiness that is everlasting, that won’t go away. Having the constant purpose of forgiveness will unify your perception and stabilize your emotions. You have to go through the darkness to the light. When that intense emotion of specialness is coming up, and you look at it so you can release it, it really has a different purpose.
It is time for rejoicing. Without the ego, there is only Oneness in the Quantum Field. This sounds boring to the ego, but in fact it is the natural state of a mind at peace. Contrarily, the ego plays a hoax on the separated mind, enrolling it with “shared agreements” about the external world, which can never be real. As we pass through the final thought systems that make us question if there is light at the end of the tunnel, it seems to require a sort of “blind faith,” and the ego would have us live the same mistakes over and over without questioning them. But as we relax into a life without worldly ambitions, there is great rejoicing in the kingdom. It is a cause for rejoicing.
Is sex wrong? Distorted miracle impulses like sexuality are seen through the ego’s prism of lack. The ego is always judging: is this wrong or right? Good or bad? Moral or immoral? But no sexuality is condemned. Jesus is not concerned with morality and ethical beliefs, which vary widely between cultures. Allow the Holy Spirit to reach you where you are concerning sexuality. It is highly individualized.
The Holy Spirit is like your intuitive Inner Voice, the Bridge back to your Higher Self. The Holy Spirit uses symbols of the dream world to guide you deeper inward until you can reach the point of releasing identification with ego entirely. At that point, you experience yourself as the Higher Self and at one with God.
The body is part of a self-concept we could call “the doer.” The spiritual journey is a transition from being identified with the “the doer” to the experience of being “done through” by the Spirit in order to experience one’s Self as Pure Being. Trying to meditate your way to this state can be “tedious and very time consuming,” (T-18.VII.4:7-8,11) yet the willingness to be “done through” allows the Stillness to re-enter instantly and effortlessly. Such is the gateway to Joy and Pure Being!
“A Course in Miracles” says that the world is backwards and upside down, that you are asleep and dreaming. As you follow the Course, it brings up intense emotions and upheavals in your life. It can seem to be a difficult journey. But when you go deeper, the rewards are immense. In our community, we rely on Guidance. We see that that the skills we formerly used to prop up pride are now humbly used for love.
David Hoffmeister explores the topic of special and holy relationships. The purpose is key in understanding the difference between the ego’s purpose and the Holy Spirit’s purpose for relationships, things, events, and encounters. Consistently aligning with this purpose of forgiveness takes mind training. When we are living in purpose, we simply accept what is given. The script is written, so we can let go, and allow ourselves to be gently carried down a river of love.
Stop people-pleasing and you will feel how wonderful life can really be. The people-pleasing defense mechanism is subtle, insidious, and heavily engrained. You’ve been raised with the belief that people-pleasing is good—please your boss, your spouse, your children, etc. Meanwhile, people have all of these underlying currents of conflicts inside. Acknowledge your feelings! Let Spirit give you your yes’s and no’s, and say what you need to say.
