Spirit will draw forth mighty companions with whom there is a feeling of safety to expose things. But this should be done with discernment, under guidance.
Safety
Our Divine Life Insurance Policy
Accepting the Atonement for ourselves is the ultimate insurance policy. The Atonement is the perfect solution to the belief in separation. It will always bring us to safety. It will always bless us and lead us towards God’s Will for us, which is perfect happiness. Whenever the ego appears to tempt or threaten us, we don’t need to try to change or fix anything in the world. All we can do is change our mind about the world.
Open Relationships
No matter how many relationships you get into and how much pain you encounter, the key is to always look within. What is the issue in the mind? Unfortunately, the deceived mind is addicted to quite the opposite. It is addicted to projection and denial of this projection. This ACIM healing discussion explores relationships and anger: David uses the example of a friend’s experiment with open relationships to show how the mind can turn away from projection and denial, and towards true healing. David shares that in his story, he had to see that he did not want to project or deny any longer.
Mystical Experiences
The ego fears loss of control in a mystical experience, but everything is perfectly taken care of. Rather, it is a glorious glimpse of the light and love that we truly are. Let go and allow the experience.
Form and Guidance
If the goal is peace of mind and form does not matter, how do we deal with things of the world such as locking doors and taking out insurance? While we seem to be in the world, we are not asked to overthrow those laws but to follow guidance on practical matters. We don’t need to ask, “Is this spiritual or not?” These things are like props coming in to use. We need to be open and prayerful as to the use of the symbols. When we are tuned in and listening there is no problem.
The Ego Trap of Familiarity
The only thing the ego has to offer is the familiar. The “I know” mind that thinks it knows anything about this world is the same mind that has opinions, judgments, and comparisons. The ego makes there seem to be a sense of safety in that familiarity, but something inside our hearts wants us to open up to a greater sense of love, greater than anything on this earth. Trust will bring us there.
