Miracles are involuntary and they cannot be controlled. This is how a joyful life is lived, by letting go and letting God; by not trying to control the world, and not trying to plan for the future. It’s okay to let go, you will not die by letting go of control, you will actually live!
Possession and Ownership
A Parable of Unwinding
“A Course in Miracles” teacher David Hoffmeister shares about the rapid unwinding process that Living Miracles Messenger of Peace Frances Xu went through. It can seem like the spiritual journey would be easier if your life situation didn’t have many of the trappings of the world, such as marriage, career, mortgage, etc. But actually, it depends solely on the desire of one’s heart! So, no matter what your circumstances, step by step, at whatever pace you are ready for, the Holy Spirit will unwind you from this dream! Enjoy this profound parable of Awakening!
From CEO to Mystic
David Hoffmeister has a revealing conversation with two former Chief Executive Officers who left their careers to devote their lives to God. CEOs cannot become enlightened. Holding any role as an identity—mother, father, butcher, baker—keeps you in illusion. You can’t spiritualize a business. You can’t bring the truth to the illusion; you must bring the illusion to the truth.
Why Is Spirituality of Value in My Life?
What do I value in my life? I want a measurement for how to tell if something has value for me on this spiritual journey. If it doesn’t have value, why would I want it? “A Course in Miracles” gives you the measurement, beautifully and clearly spelled out: “If you choose a thing that will not last forever, what you choose is valueless.” (ACIM, W-133.6.) Through “A Course in Miracles” daily lessons, the awakening mind is trained to set aside the ego’s goals, and choose instead with Spirit. The confused mind is trained to think with the Holy Spirit. This is a change in direction towards peace and away from fear.
Into The Flow of Love
When we get into the flow of love, everything comes our way, without exception. When we have “giving love” at the core of our logical system instead of “ownership and possession,” everything proceeds beautifully. It is systematic and scientific.
Three Lessons
Love is inevitable. Lessons of the Holy Spirit: Give miracle ideas to strengthen them. Teach peace to learn it. Be vigilant only for God and His Kingdom.
Motivation for Life
You can live from inspiration by becoming a miracle worker. Trust Spirit and everything needed to convey the message is provided. In the beginning the ego resists being let go. Then it feels very natural.
The Playful, Collaborative Mind
We live in community at a Monastery in Utah; it is not like what you may think, however. It is very spontaneous and we follow only two rules: no people-pleasing and no private thoughts. In this honesty, we allow our resistances to come up and be released. This stops us from taking things so seriously, and we become more creative and playful. The creative impulse born out of this is the miracle mind, and miracles are collaborative. While living in community in Mallorca, Spain at a 6-week retreat we organized, there were many opportunities to release old habits of thinking; this talk starts with a music video that poured out as a beautiful collaboration by some of the Messengers of Peace while participating in that retreat. Through sharing these things with the world, we share our attitude of love and truth. And “No one can fail, who seeks to reach the truth.” (ACIM, W-131) Is there a finer promise than that?
Guided Transportation
We not only project the body, we then project upon the body. We do this with cars and hang our identity on them. Once we take our steps to the realization that all is divinely given, we will realize our worth lies in nothing of this world.
True Generosity
True generosity is the opposite of how it is perceived in the world and cannot be defined in material terms. A true teacher of God does not want anything that cannot be given away as everything that is given away is strengthened in himself.
