What is time? This discussion gives the mind a different way to perceive time, relationships, and the world that eases frustration. The sleeping mind gives a strong emphasis on changing things in form. It wants to change people, fix situations, improve the self or the world. What if you were able to change your perception and become the observer? Time is the past. You might think of it as linear, that it goes in one direction. You might think that there is a future that hasn’t happened yet. The ego says, “no it’s not over!” The sleeping mind says, “the past is not over and can be changed.” The point of coming to the understanding that time is the past is that you can’t really change it. Once you begin to grasp that, you stop trying to change and fix it. You can move back in your mind into the role of the observer and stop playing the game. It’s an illusion.
Past–Future Thoughts
Follow the Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit sees only two orders of thought: love or a call for love. You as a person cannot make this distinction. Yet, this distinction is the gateway back to eternal life. Therefore, this important distinction is the Holy Spirit’s job to make for you when you surrender your will for His. This sends the mind into a state of humbleness where the prayer to the Holy Spirit is “show me.” Ultimately, we do not follow people, we follow Spirit. David Hoffmeister is a living example of the teachings in “A Course in Miracles.” For those who are feeling the call to Awaken, David Hoffmeister offers pure inspiration! “A Course in Miracles” is a pointer towards non-dual awareness, Oneness.
I Feel Worried about the Future
Thinking that you would be better off if only something or somebody would change is what prevents you from being alive in the present. Hypothetical thinking has never brought you peace of mind. How can it possibly serve you when the mind is asleep and stuck in a world of hypotheticals? Yet this is the addiction of the world and is the only way the ego knows how to think. Truth is simple and there is a way to cut through all this complexity. The Holy Spirit gives us direction through the day.
