A Course in Miracles is meant to be used to help you get in touch with the Holy Spirit so that the Spirit can help undo your belief in specifics. ACIM is not meant to be used as an intellectual understanding to metaphysically gloss over specific problems that are still believed in.
What does it mean to be honest with yourself? If you think you are a person bound by time and space, then you haven’t been honest enough. Therefore, first things first: you need to turn towards getting truly honest, and never look back. Be honest with how you feel. You don’t have to try to avoid the emotions. You can have an attitude in your heart of, “Show me, guide me. Expose what I believe in.” What lies beneath your upset?
In this talk, David Hoffmeister uses A Course in Miracles principles to guide the mind towards a new perspective. ACIM is a pointer towards non-dual awareness. All temporary symbols eventually fade away into the awareness of the Self. The truth is a state of pure stillness. Following this brings an actual experience that everything else is just props. They are now used by Holy Spirit and happily laid aside when no longer helpful. Therefore we need not be afraid to let everything up into awareness. It will be healed for it is already healed!
David Hoffmeister is asked about the ego and the defense of simply attempting to use words to deny the “reality” of the world. David talks about how unconscious beliefs must be undone and how it is important to go through the darkness to the light.
Living “A Course in Miracles” each day will clear your mind of fear! There is a difference between speaking about something and actually living it. ACIM is not to be spoken, it is to be lived. Get in touch with what you feel. Do not use words as a defense mechanism to push down your emotions. When you let the emotions up instead of denying them with words, a transformation of the anger can happen. This is a stepping stone for coming to a decision point in your mind. There is a decision point that you are moving towards!
