What we do follows from what we think. We must become consistent and clear in our thought processes in order for our actions to flow clearly from them. When we think of them as not connected, there is not a sense of harmony. This whole world is the “Pinocchio” syndrome. Human beings believe that they are autonomous people. We have to start to acknowledge the invisible strings and conditions. There is a very direct connection between action and thought. It seems invisible because the ego belief is that we have minds, thoughts, and bodies of our own which all support the belief that we are autonomous individuals.
The Holy Spirit always meets you where you believe yourself to be, and so leads you out of the loop of projection. All lessons are for you. What is given, is given! You are always on the right track and always perfectly taken care of. Don’t worry, be happy, and let Awakening be done through you!
David Hoffmeister shares the wisdom of a state of mind some call Enlightenment. He speaks at a retreat in Mallorca, Spain and reveals that perception is the projection of an inward condition. The body and brain and world and feelings are all projections of thoughts, and everything begins and ends in consciousness. The mind is literally teaching itself and this teaching is of the mind and not the bodies. Everything that seems to be an external cause is only an unreal effect.
The ego tries to project the error of separation from God out into the world of images, concretes, and specifics. Behavior, actions, and people are the focus. Through “A Course in Miracles,” Jesus trains us to see that there are no mistakes in behavior; the only mistake is the egoic wrong mind. Learning to be right-minded and choosing the correction is what the spiritual journey is all about.
Salvation is like a needle in a haystack of false beliefs and it is our mission to find this needle. Every piece of hay which hides that needle is a thought based on a spurious cause/effect relationship: that anything of time and space can have an effect on our mind or upon anything else in time and space. Only the mind is causative and to accept this without exception is to accept the Atonement and remember true Freedom.
The crucifixion is only painful in the ego’s interpretation. Everything is mental. In “A Course in Miracles,” Jesus says, “And you will recognize you practiced well by this: The body should not feel at all.” W-136.17:2 The crucifixion’s lesson is: Teach only love for that is what you are. And the reason that Jesus could teach that lesson during the crucifixion was because his mind was “above the battleground.” Nothing can harm the Spirit and this is why, in truth, you need no defenses.
In order to awaken, we must accept our invulnerability as Spirit and make it manifest by the attitude that, in truth, we cannot be hurt. Unquestioned beliefs will always block this from awareness, controlling one’s decision-making process through fear and leading to a robot-like life. Therefore, one MUST begin to get in touch with all unconscious conditioning and learn to let it go with Spirit.
Should I try to manifest abundance in my life? Is manifesting possible? In response to a question about the movie, “The Secret,” David Hoffmeister explains that the mind is very powerful and a movie such as “The Secret” can be a useful launching pad to go deeper. Early in the Workbook, “A Course in Miracles” daily lessons guide the mind to look at perception, and then look at thoughts. The purpose of the Workbook is to lead the mind into an experience that the thoughts the mind thinks it thinks, and the world that it thinks it sees, are actually the same. There is no world outside the mind.
What’s it all about? As we actually begin to put the Kingdom of Heaven first, we enter into a conversation with the Inner Teacher, the Voice for God. Truth starts to dawn upon the limited mind as you question your goals and the motives for the choices that you make. Pleasure and pain, past and future seem like opposites to the ego, but the insanity of this duality is soon revealed to the open and teachable mind, for they are literally the same. The illusory nature of the idols and images you value here becomes obvious.
