In “A Course in Miracles,” the “real world” is synonymous with the happy dream, the forgiven world, and true perception. Everything is seen as simultaneous, equal, connected, and unified in the moment. What is deemed as valuable in the linear world (money, education, status, credentials, the body’s health, etc.) is seen as of no value in the real world. Seeing this, the mind can rest. It is clear that nothing valuable can truly be left behind. What you are and what God is alone has value and is eternal.
When we have “free will” associated with “choice,” that is where the distortions of mind enter in. There is no free will in this world, for our will is imprisoned in this world so long as its believed in. In “A Course in Miracles,” free will is equated with God’s Will, which is perfect happiness. And perfect happiness can only exist where the concept of choice does not.
ACIM reminds us that everything in the world is an idea and they are all unreal. Because they are all equally unreal, there are no conflicting ideas. Yet there is an actual real idea behind them, called Christ. You are an idea of the Mind of God. Christ lives forever in the Mind of God and has not left the Source. That is what you are waking up to. That is where all this is going to: an endless mind being an idea in the Mind of God. That is Oneness. Any time your mind goes into any kind of upset, it indicates that there is something to forgive.
The greatest calling in our heart is forgiveness. God is calling each and every one of us to be a miracle worker. We don’t need any special skills to be a miracle worker. We trust the miracles of Jesus. We have to have an open heart and we just say to Jesus, “You do your miracles through me. I’m ready to serve you. I will follow whatever you tell me so I can be truly helpful.” We don’t have to hesitate and say, “I’m not ready,” because Jesus knows that in our hearts we are ready and we can accomplish this and allow miracles. God loves us all equally and with the same eternal love. We are walking in the light together.
Oneness doesn’t see symbols of hate or of love. Everything is Love. When you let go of limiting thoughts, judgment begins to dissolve. Picking up on others’ judgmental thoughts is a misperception. There are no “others;” the others are your thoughts. There are not multiple minds, there is only one mind. Personal interpretation is always false. Let the Holy Spirit interpret for you so that you can see truly.
When defensiveness in relationships arise ask yourself, “What am I defending?” In all cases it’s some aspect of our own self-concept; some aspect or image of what we’ve identified with. The deeper you go into spirituality, you start to realize that however it looks on the screen of the world, you are only ever talking or listening to yourself. The ego feels it is lacking and incomplete, and so it looks at a relationship partner to fill that lack. It thinks it deserves love and it looks for a partner to fulfill that love.
