Part of the spiritual journey is to heal the beliefs in sickness, pain and death. These beliefs can feel very ingrained to a mind that’s identified with the body. It can seem frightening to take a closer look at these thoughts when we’d rather avoid them. When faced with thoughts of death it can seem intensely fearful, our instant reaction can be to distract away from the fear, but these can be used as mind expanding experiences. In handing all of our thoughts over around sickness and death we can let the Holy Spirit interpret and heal our perception around these beliefs to free our mind from suffering.
Let’s question the belief that you are a victim of sickness! When you see sickness for what it is, the mind can heal. So what is sickness? It is a game about being a victim of outside forces. The mind selects all the bodily symptoms of sickness. It quickly forgets having done so. Then it looks for their cause outside in the world as if the mind had not selected them! When you feel like you are a victim of sickness, you are playing a pretend game about what sickness is and where it came from.
How do you heal sickness? You have to go so deeply within in joining with the Spirit that you actually see the impossibility of sickness. How do you do that? First of all, if this world is a projection, the problem is not on the screen; you have to get it off the screen. Sickness is not specific, it is MENTAL. When you have brought it back to the mind you are ready for the next step: Atonement, salvation, resurrection.
