The ACIM teaching that “the script is written” seems to have an aspect of destiny to it. You are destined to wake up. The story is false and you are to accept your divinity instead. You can then begin to develop the feeling that God has created you perfect and innocent. Free will is your will in Heaven. Yet we need to be convinced of this, and an attachment to the past requires us to have guidance in where to go and what to do. This can’t be glossed over. The emphasis in the statement, “the script is written,” is on the word “written,” which is in the past tense.
How did Jesus not suffer? To the ego, it looked as if Jesus was suffering on the cross with nails in his hands and feet. Why do we see this event as suffering? Because the ego made up suffering. And, when we see suffering, we are looking with the ego. It made up the appearance of the body, the nails, and the cross. It made up an innocent lamb and the judgment cast upon it. Yet these are all mere concepts, mere duality. The mind that has been healed of all concepts rests in a freed perspective, or state of Christ.
Using “A Course in Miracles” in relationships as a mind training program dissolves the unconscious mind. Ultimately, one is left with a complete awareness of what is in the mind and how to forgive what opposes Peace. When “A Course in Miracles” is practiced in a community setting, there is a great speed-up in this unconscious dissolving. To have a relationship in community coupled with the openness of communal living is a recipe for a lightning-fast directness. Happy Awakening!
David speaks with depth and humor on copyright lawsuits, non-dualism, debt, completion, the world, One Mind, judgment, denial, projection, daily practice, cause and effect, the ego, time, Krishnamurti parables, and forgiveness.
Do you ever notice depressed thoughts in your mind or feel suicidal? Spirituality takes the stigma off of suicide because you realize life is not of the body. The body never lives or dies. “A Course in Miracles” is taking us into a state of mind in which we see that hell, upset, and the death wish are synonymous with wrong-mindedness. Joy, peace, happiness, and clarity are all synonymous with right-mindedness. The important decision is who am I aligning with: the Spirit or the ego? You realize heaven is reached through the choice for life. Expose the valueless death wish and choose resurrection of the mind. Everything is the result of a decision, the outward picture of an inward state of mind. Choose a miracle!
Any upsetting thought is just a thin veil drawn over intense rage. Death is a decision. What happens to you, you have asked for. Atonement is accepting the correction that has already been given. Forgiveness is a life wish. The ego is a death wish. The prerequisite for accepting the correction is to see the death wish as in your mind. First you must understand that your problem is always a perceptual problem; you are seeing something that is not there. Once you admit this then you can accept the answer, the guidance of the Holy Spirit. The solution is never a choice in this world; nothing in the world needs to be saved; only the mind can be salvaged. Face your darkness, your belief in lack. You are worthy of moving through it to perfect happiness. God’s plan for you cannot fail. The world is escaped through life.
What is my identity? Who am I? How do I define myself? Maybe you’ve had the feeling that Neo had in the movie “The Matrix,” that there is a splinter in your mind driving you crazy. It is a deep-down feeling that something is not right. It makes you question your self-concept. Anxiety and discomfort comes with having a split mind. People try to feel better by changing things out in the world. They try to see if they can feel free by giving away all of their things, living a life of renunciation and simplicity. It doesn’t matter what you do in form. It is not the possessions that are the problem, it is the belief in possessions that is the problem! It is an identity crisis in the mind.
Healing through relationships is practical. Use the relationships that you have in your life now to heal your mind and awaken. You don’t have to be in a monastery chanting “hail Mary” or “om!” It is possible to go through your day and listen to the Holy Spirit without interrupting your regular activities in any way. You will see how the Spirit can use everything you believe in: relationships, spiritual practices, the job you seem to have, the family concept. Anything you believe, the Spirit will lightly use to loosen your mind from it to help you feel more in the unified awareness, the quantum field. If you have a partner or friend, you can tell them what is on your heart.
You have complete control over your state of Mind. Everything is perception. Once you start to reel your perception of the world back in and hand it over to Spirit in your mind, you start to get really happy.
Why do I feel rage and where does it come from? How can I move past it? To see a fragmented perceptual world entails rage because it is a form of vengeance. To see form means understanding has been obscured. You do not know your own best interest. The ego is the grievance producing your current context and rage is bound to come up. If your context involve following, you may see your leader as unfair and feel rage. The leaders’ guidance about tasks is appropriate. It may be strong. It is a witness to what you want in your heart, which is to break through that anger and resistance. You are never upset for the reason you think. Your anger involves a misperception, the ego trying to pin it on a person, a form. This is not its cause. The rage is tied to all of perception. Your companions are here to help you move through it.
