Love is inevitable! You can’t mess it up! As you go beneath the ego sugarcoating you can expect to become self-critical. The darkness in the mind is like a tangled web of lies, and the mind is afraid to look at it. The mind wants to close down, and put barriers up. On a journey toward healing you fall down, get trapped, and stumble through the dark! But asking questions and talking about what is arising is the first step in healing. Let the Holy Spirit lead the way. You are not in this alone!
An open mind is needed for healing. When the mind is closed, it feels like it has gathered enough evidence and knows how things work. Cynicism is the curse of this world. When your experiences don’t match the happy endings of fairly tales, you are emotionally shattered and bitterness sets in. A death wish made this world. It was made in hatred. When you ask yourself, What part did I play in this? fear arises.
There is a huge fear to look at the darkness within. The ego made up a two-tier self-concept. The top tier is the face of innocence, a false mask that is wet with tears at the injustices of the world. It was made to cover over what lies beneath, which is so dark it is “draped with sin,” and the mind would rather play the victim than look at it.
Yet when the prayer of your heart is for healing and you call upon the Holy Spirit, then anything that is blocking the light in that lower tier will come up. The feelings of bitterness come up for healing. Deep, lasting healing requires a willingness to look within. You are here to clear the underlying ontological guilt. Let the Holy Spirit guide you and unwind you in the process of regaining your happiness.
