Here is a great gem from David’s ACIM videos. Find out how to pin-point where you get tripped-up with perceiving upsets as being outside of your own mind. See that there is no pain in reality; the thought of pain originates in the sleeping mind.
Upsets, like a pain, can be mistakenly seen as outside of your own mind. The upset is not outside of you, because there is no inside or outside. Really, it needs to be taken one step further: the upset originates in the deceived mind. Once this is seen, it is a huge step closer to not judging anything on the screen.
A Course in Miracles quotes Jesus’s teaching: “All things work together for good. There are no exceptions except in the ego’s judgment.” (T 4.V.1.1) No exceptions! That means that what the ego experiences as a pain is working for good. Sometimes it seems that you desire gentleness and happiness, and yet you feel pain or intense negative emotions. What is that all about? It is the ego’s judgment of what you are experiencing. It is nothing more than ego interpretation.
“If God is real, there is no pain. If pain is real, there is no God. If God is real, there is no temptation, and it must be that everything that I experience comes from what I desire. So, if that is what is on my altar, and that is what I want, that is what I will see.”
The pain or the upset originates in the sleeping mind, and it is not real. It is there because you desired it, and all things work together for good.
