Hold no graven images before the Lord. Spirit has already handled these images. Salvation is already accomplished. But when we try to string the images together and put them on a timeline—that is when we make idols. We compare ourselves to other persons or we compare our present experience to a “better experience” we think we’ve had in the past, or to a long-gone mystical experience we wish to get back. Give these idols over to Spirit and let your mind be rinsed in a “Jesus Christ rinse-cycle.”
