David opens the session by talking about how, on the spiritual journey, the ego feels like it’s getting chased out of its hiding places like a spider down in a well. Also, how, at times, the spiritual journey can get disorienting as things start to seem less “solid” and more surreal, but how this starts to be experienced as relaxing and new. There are also phases when there don’t seem to be external witnesses for the Spirit, and this is a call to go deeper and rely more on the inner guidance. He also talks about letting the Spirit speak through you without censorship. But when you share this message, it is not always going to go over well with people, and that’s okay. There’s no need to convert people to “A Course in Miracles.” It’s always about peace for oneself and that’s it. David talks about when someone once asked him why he goes anywhere if everything is perfect, and he affirms that, “Yes, there’s no impetus to change anything.” The ego will try to commercialize spirituality like what’s happened to most holidays. Jesus is just a symbol of the unreality of this world and the Love that is true. You don’t need to be perfect in form. Accept your perfection only in Spirit. Be gentle with yourself and follow the prompts you receive.

Yes or No
It takes a lot of mind training to become clear about your yes and no. In our community we use the elder brother approach. One who has gone before and who is consistently peaceful is someone to join with. The ego is concerned with autonomy. It takes much letting go of autonomous decisions to come into alignment with the Holy Spirit, to be done through by Spirit.
Transform Your Life
Empty your mind of past guilt and of goals for the future. When your only goal is the peace of God, your life transforms. You are worthy of a miracle. You are ready for the joy of a guided life.
Give Miracles
On the spiritual journey there is a discipline, a mind training, to undo the doer. Experiment with the steps. We seem to have a sense of self-doubt and fear of getting a bad evaluation. Wouldn’t it be nice to transcend that, to just show up in presence and let go into the flow?! The Holy Spirit gives you the gifts, the miracles, to give from the storehouse of your mind moment to moment.

I Will Step Back and Let Him Lead the Way
In response to a question about how to respond when there is apparent ego attack and resistance directed at oneself, David speaks about his experience learning that what is needed is to step back and let Holy Spirit lead the way, and surrendering to releasing all judgement of who needed help. The ego is like a steel screw wound into oak with a power screwdriver. Hammer, pliers, etc. will not work to get this screw out. It has to be unwound the way it went in. When you join your mind with the Holy Spirit, that screw will come out and Holy Spirit will gently guide how to unwind from obligations that have been set up by the ego. It may be slow to start with but the unwinding is certain. We all are sustained by the Love of God and have just forgotten it.
The Holy Spirit’s Perspective
The Holy Spirit has a great perspective and knows in every seeming circumstance what would be most helpful. David speaks about Helen Schucman’s experience with scribing “A Course in Miracles” and how she had a lot of resistance towards the Voice. The Holy Spirit cannot take your fear away because it would be interfering with the most basic laws of cause and effect, trying to step between your thoughts and their effects. It is an inside job and you can use the guidance to see the conditions that were set up in your mind, and really, you are not bound by these conditions. The Course is only a tool to bring you in contact with your internal teacher. The Holy Spirit is kind and gentle and will help undo concepts.
The Authority Problem and Surrender
The world of duality has no reality. You did not make yourself and you do not create your own reality. God is the creator of Reality. You have no control over the world. Surrender your efforts to the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
