Every symbol and image that you see with the body’s eyes is a reflection. When you look at a child, you can see the child as a mirror of your mind. Any grievances and limits you see in the child are within your own mind. If you are practicing ACIM and raising children, you see what is taking place in your thoughts. As children go through grade school and into high school, you can look at your own beliefs about authority, normalcy, education, and success.
When you withdraw investment in the ego, you see that all symbols you see are in your mind: even your child and their teacher! Even grades and homework and parent-teacher conferences! You can become a witness to truth in yourself and your child and see that witness to freedom smiling back at you.
The best thing you can do for your children is to accept your function as a miracle worker and teach only love. They will thank you for demonstrating remembrance of your true Self. The world is your mirror. The ego put symbols of separation in your awareness. When you see that they are mirrors, they are set free!
The purpose of children is to free the mind that believes in separation. Indigo children are here to wake the mind up! Indigo children are saying, “Do not conform to the systems in this world. This world is backwards and upside down. Stop sleep-walking!” What you see in a child is a reflection of what is taking place in your own mind. Indigo children do not reflect ambition or achievement; they reflect truth!
“As you escape the ego, as you withdraw your investment in the ego, as you see the nothingness of the ego and are able to laugh at the ego, all of the prisoners are set free; all the children are set free. All the prisoners around the world, not just the ones in the prisons, but the ones in the suits, in the high-rise buildings, the chief executive officers are set free.
The doctors and the nurses are set free. In fact that’s what Jesus says in the Workbook of A Course in Miracles: as you accept the gift of healing, meaning our mind, not our personalities, but as the mind accepts the atonement—accepts the gift of healing—all the prisoners are set free. Because the ego put them there as symbols of separation.”
